“Aemos uses the Sanctified Sharpening Stone Daily because you know he stays on that Sigmar Male Grindset”
The above is simply gorgeous work and stunning application of battle damage for Hexbane’s Hunters by PixelMnkey on Reddit (PixelBrush on discord). Aemos looks frankly scary, and I’m a huge fan.

A new blog has spooled up – “Centre of Attention”. The first post covers a tournament report from a 9 player Nemesis event where the author won with Ephilim’s Pandaemonium, and provides concise but thoughtful reflections on the decks they built and the strengths/weakensses of the warband and its opponents (and manages to riff on some Championship thoughts in the end). I look forward to more content out of this blog, and will ALWAYS support more content generation for this game!
Excellent headswap and lightning blade work on Steelheart’s Champions by Christine Orton. The bases and pauldrons are quite well done also! And check out what’s left of that shield
Tymoteusz Hulin competed in the Kontrast Festival of Miniature Painting and Gaming in Warsaw, Poland and earned a Bronze medal for this rendition of the Pandaemonium. The pink to blue wet blending is phenomenal. Well deserved award!
Are you tired of the Gnarlspirit pack? Well reconsider, because if they’re done up in a proper folk horror deep-woods scheme with appropriate scenic basing, as Robert Graham has done, they look so good
Blackpowder’s Buccaneers by Andy Knowles – love the textures on the cloth and leathers here (and the striped pirate pants peeking through!)
Evocative Kixi-Taka the Diviner by Red_Crane_Miniatures on reddit – love the non metallic metal work on the staff and blending on the feathers. If only mine looked this nice!
A nice little painting guide for some interestingly-schemed warbands form the new starter set – definitely haven’t seen Farstriders painted up like this before
Beautiful two-tone Thorns of the Briar Queen by Jonas Færing – amazing what can be done with such a limited color palette
Darth Vader’s Stormcoven by Kacper Łukaszuk – who needs to play Shatterpoint? WHU has everything you need. This conversion/paintjob is BUCKWILD
Red Crane Miniatures hits it out of the park again, this time with Prince Duvalle in a striking NMM Red (which even is showing in the refelction on his sword!)
Painting progress comparison on Shond by Dr_caoc on Reddit – cool to see how far people can come after years of improvement. I know personally Underworlds advanced my painting skill much faster than other systems, simple because you get so many small projects where you can try out new techniques in a lower-risk environment.
Crazy pale green Object Source Lighting on Ephilim and the crew by Studio489
Monthly worship at the Altar of the Crab, this time by u/Liefde666
Some Chosen Axes in Blue by Scott Baird, winning Best Painted at the Bugman’s Nemesis Clash
A cool take on frost vampires and white armor on the Crimson Court by Christopher Sköld. The Xandire’s Truthseekers are also done up in a unique scheme – I dig those cloaks and the purple Taros
Ephilim & Co. done in a great muted grey color scheme with some green OSL from the magic components – it’s nice to see them done in something other than ethereal blue and really ups the creepy factor for me.
Beastgrave warbands face off in this paintjob set by Antti Jäppinen
Some intense flames going down in this diorama of Hexbane’s Hunters by Martin Higham – Maybe I ought to look more into the card Burn Them Out…
Who runs the Farstriders? Only the Faithful for u/Leviad0n. The maroon leather is ace, the capes are crisp, and the red star-eagle is a unique take that offsets the rest of the palette quite well
Sharp Myari’s Purifiers by Alf Rodyberger, just how the Lumineth would have wanted
Excellent green robes on Domitan’s Stormcoven done by Crown & Dagger Miniature Painting
Some proper ‘spooky white ghost’ styled Headsmen’s Curse by Jon Grant Miniatures (https://www.jongrantminiatures.com/) – it’s great to see the classic milky white/bedsheet look on nighthaunt and it really helps the Blade stand out as a centerpiece for the warband.
A cool tarnished silver and yellow take on Gryselle’s Arenai – nice to see elves done up in a skin tone other than ‘snow white’ as well
Khagra standing over a lava cliff in the snow but DurAlvar – the contrasts on this model are wild. There are even little trees! She looks pretty hardcore too.
Some jade cloaked Shadeborn by Matthew Young on a lazy Susan for your video pleasure
Can you tell I love the Hexbane models? Here’s a very Witch Hunter/Diablo looking rendition by Alex Lindenberger at Lonewolf Painting
That’s a wrap for the month of June! As always send me what you’ve done or found out in the wild and I’ll be sure to share. Until next time, keep spending that glory!
