Today’s post will be a bit of a special one – I’m kicking off a series that will be titled Spent Glory Heroes. The goal is to celebrate those special people in the community who drive this game and its engagement, uplift others, and make the game as a whole a better thing to partake in.

This game has tons of people who do ‘big, exciting things’ like winning major tournaments, hosting/guest starring on blogs, podcasts, or YouTube channels, and more. It also has plenty of important people who do ‘small, boring things’ like organizing a local game night, running teaching events, being the store tournament organizer, and fostering the development of new players. Some heroes might do it all. Whether this individual is a “Big L Leader” or a “little l leader”, they are heroes, and deserve to be seen and recognized for their contributions to our community.

The problem is, I need to find them. Too many of you heroes hide quietly without that recognition and unless I know you personally, I may not know what you’re up to.

That’s where you, dear reader, come in. Somewhere out there is a hero you know, either online or in person, who should be appreciated. Nominate them as a Spent Glory Hero! Heck, nominate yourself!

There are no minimum requirements for nomination. That person who came to mind – they totally qualify. Let me know who they are and why they’re so cool, and if they are up for it, I’d love for them to answer a few questions about themselves and share their passion for the game. Much like the Love Letters Series has people penning articles about why they adore a given warband, we should also be penning articles about why we love this game and its people.

I’d love an introduction to them and why they are so great to include with the article as well.

Thank you for the work you do in this community, even if it’s as ‘small’ as playing games every so often with the people in your life. This community’s flame is carried by thousands of candles and all are significant – let’s allow others see your light shine too.
