Featured this month is Harry Miller’s (Windy/Slippy’s) phenomenal Grymwatch. The skin is realistically textured, and the white hand-print warpaint gives a real horror movie effect. I got the chance to see these up close and personal at the World Championships and they are just so, so good. The butcher is particular is top notch, but the whole ensemble is award worthy if you ask me!

Can’t wait for a new FaQ/Errata to drop? Val has put together a community document to work off of until they get around to it – partially based on rulings at worlds, and partially based on player consensus, here’s a stopgap for your card interaction and warband ability needs. STRAIGHT OUTTA SHADESPIRE:
Ever wondered what the heck is valid for WHU second edition and where to find it? Dracius has put together an inventory list on google docs you can look at here.

PODCASTS
What the Hex came off of the World Championships with a recap of what they got right, what they got wrong, and the fun they had. I guess I personally ruined their week so you can listen to complaints about my behavior and performance in “Collective Fish Trauma”. The bonus audio clip at the end is from the 1800s yet is hauntingly prescient…
WtH also has an interview with Worlds’ biggest surprise – Kurnoth’s Heralds did amazingly well while piloted by Canada’s champion G. Listen in to figure out just how (and why) they performed in incredible excess of expectations.
Path to Glory has an interview with Jaroslaw “Nocturnis” Kwasniewski who was the winner of the World Championships. Great insight into his playlines as well as the deck composition itself from the game’s newest champion.
Path to Glory also has a retrospective out of George and Mark (with a few comments from Aman) about their experience at worlds, what they might have done differently, and why they think the competition unfolded the way it did.

The Agents of Sigmar did the community a huge service and ran a live ‘learn to play Spitewood’ video. Show this to anybody who needs a little help wrapping their head around the rules! They also did a world championships roundup to cover their takes on the event outcome and the new competitive landscape
Glorkazworka, the Polish Underworlds channel, interviews Jaroslaw, the new World Champion, in his native Polish.
Critical Focus Channel brings us a Spitewood battle report featuring Hrothgorn’s Mantrappers and Kurnoth’s Heralds
Cinderfall Gaming has a Rivals battle report featuring Kamandora’s Blades RS vs Hexbane’s Hunters PP. While there were several rules mishaps, misinterpretations, and misplays, it’s still nice to shine a spotlight on some lesser used teams and promote beer and pretzels play.
An Old Belgian Otaku has a quick video about personal tips and tricks he uses to help make the game a little easier to play

Path to Glory’s Mark/Baconbourne, who made the top cut at Worlds and was the best in faction Jaws of Itzl player, has a recap of the event and a Meta-analysis of the warband/deck. Check it out.

What Mark also did this month was evaluate Realmstone Raiders – why nobody took it to worlds as well as what possible changes the rules team could make to the plot card to make it viable for competition. Super well written yet concise piece. Bravo, man
Staggerers’ Michael/VintroV2 took second place at the World Championships with Elathain’s Soulraid. Read all about his BA/PP deck, why some cards were NOT included, and level up your skill by reading from one of the game’s best.
He’s also put together a narrative battle report from his time – written from the perspective of the models themselves in-game and in-universe. Crazy idea that definitely freshens up the usual Battle Report monotony!
Staggerers ALSO has a discussion on what’s wrong with the current Forsaken and Restricted list and some thoughts on how to improve game balance; by expanding it and allowing for 3 restricted cards, introducing a points system, or balancing by factions.
Set the Tempo has posted up their Worlds tournament report, writing about the Deadly Synergy & Reckless Fury Skittershank that Matt brought. It beat me real good!
BattleMallet has posted up a summary of every Rivals deck present at WCW and was able to analyze all the choices to find the top 9 most-frequently-chosen cards from each. If you’re wondering what the best of the best take from your favorite Rivals deck, swing through to see what 3 objectives, 3 ploys, and 3 upgrades you might want to consider.
Goonhammer/Starting Hex discussed Worlds from Jake’s experience, which has a brief event rundown but the more important component is confrontation of imposter syndrome and the realization that the Underworlds community KICKS ASS. He also covered high risk/high reward objectives this month.
Jon Grant has a review of several warbands up this month. Here’s the Xandire’s Truthseekers overview to get you started
Events/Organized Play

November 6-9th was the World Championships of Warhammer in Atlanta, GA. There has been tons of coverage on decks, performances, etc on nearly every content creation platform since then – podcasts, blogs, youtube channels, even this here website itself. Scroll back up if you want to click some links for more info on the event, but note that Phil from What the Hex?! and Jarod from Battle Mallet ran live comnmentary on The Mortal Realms Youtube Channel, which you can view here, all the way through to Jaroslaw taking the championship win with Wurspat BA/RF.
Honza Skypala took Wurmspat to an event in Prague sometime this month, and while I think it was a small local event, he did share some cool pictures of their paintjob. I also don’t have other events to talk about aside from Worlds, so here you go.
UPCOMING
The Palm Springs Open is a GW official event held in California January 17th-18th. Registration details, hotel info, player’s pack etc is all here! It will be 7 rounds of best of 3 nemesis across two days, 2 hour rounds, which is intense. However, a full-strength Golden Ticket should be on offer, so the winner gets their airfare to the 2026 World Championships paid for. I might be able to go to this one (assuming I can bully some coworkers into covering my shifts), so maybe I’ll see you there?
Agents of Sigmar is looking to run an event in February in the Southeast UK, and while more information is to come, it’s exciting that they’re continuing to make big events happen!

Warhammer World is having a huge spread of events across a weekend in March! If you have a chance to swing by, you simply must. March 13-15, the Underworlds Weekender will be held, with a Bugman’s evening clash, followed by a Grand Clash, followed again by a ‘legacy clash’, in which you play out-of-rotation warbands in a rivals setting using a Grand Alliance warscroll. Three events, one price. I’m not jealous AT ALL
Adepticon will be held the 25th-29th of March at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, WI. Come check out America’s premiere event!
March 29th will also feature the Benelux Clash in Ekeren Belgium. I’m told there will be pizza! Info and tickets can be coordinated by emailing Warhammer.Underworlds@telenet.be – Straight Outta Shadespire always hosts good events.
“The Warhammer Open: Maastricht will bring the full Open experience to The Netherlands from April 24th–26th, 2026” According to Warhammer Community. Word on the street is they will have a Golden Ticket for Underworlds as well! Same as Palm Springs, it should be 7 rounds of best of 3 nemesis across two days, 2 hour rounds.
April 25-26 will be with Polish Championship in Poznań. More info to come, so keep your eyes on the website for details!
August 2nd, 2026 will host Into the Under-Ekeren IV in Antwerp, Belgium. A 5 round best-of-one nemesis event with a special prize for the highest ranking warband from the legends section! Registration will be on Tin Soldiers of Antwerp
Painting/Hobby

Ro-Tak from the Jaws of Itzl on a diorama display base with display-level painting from Javier Rodríguez Lozano. Crystals, NMM that incorporates reflections from the surrounding scenery, realistic moss, weathered stone, inverted highlighting, this has it all.

“Death is Just the Beginning” – a kickass diorama featuring Haskel Hexbane striding into a vampire’s demesne to face down some undead horrors (including the Sons of Velmorn) by Fran García “Damek”. The use of lighting to guide visual focus is exceptional. Click the link to see several other viewpoints and take it all in!

HOLY SMOKES check out this Borgit. I know I share the guy all the time because he’s such a cool model, but this diorama by adrock404 is bonkers good. The moon shield alone is above and beyond anything I’ve ever painted, and the rest of the model is just as good.

Sons of Velmorn by Tomas Persifal with absolutely glorious metallic work. This warband broke him years ago when they originally released, and he quit painting altogether only to come back and finish them now. Amazing stuff! I especially like the cloth textures.
“Spider Duel” by Liam Hopkins, which features a converted So-Kar from the Jaws of Itzl. Awesome diorama!
Sweet Xandire’s Truthseekers by Robin Hagblom, which look like the box art and then some. He’s also started on Kurnoth’s Heralds, and knows that red primer is ‘the new meta’
Huanchi the Skink from The Starblood Stalkers by Fazrin Affendi, which features cool jade effects
Grandfather’s Gardeners, as painted by Honza Skypala, took a Silver Medal at Prague Crystal Contest 2025 in the Masters category.
Blood of the Bull by mroz4 which has amazing blending on the armor plates and NMM across the range. I would steal this look for my own warband but I haven’t nearly the talent. A+! If that wasn’t enough, they also completed a totally bonkers-good Zarbag’s Gitz complete with freehand on the robes
Beautiful Grinkrak’s Looncourt in purple robes, offset but multiple points of OSL glow. Awesome atmosphere from lucianooooo0
Dagg3rsB, purple, and Knives of the Crone – doesn’t get any better than this. The NMM and eyes are next level.
Gorgeous conversion and monochrome green on Slythael Shadestalker from the Shadeborn by AJB Minis.
Zikkit’s Tunnelpack in the classic grimdark metal with lime green accents by priabudiman. Understated but crisp, it’s just what you like to see out of your Skaven.
Awesome red and gold Blood of the Bull by Ojox23, loving the red metallic armor panels. They also cooked up Kurnoth’s Heralds with red armor, which includes really clean work on the deer parts
Awesome Night-Elf style Kurnoth’s Heralds by 61 painting. Not to be finished with just one rockstar entry, they also did headswapped Ironsoul’s Condemnors in a pale green, and Blood of the Bull in black and purple, including custom freehand on the banner!
Ephilim’s Pandaemonium by alariis with excellent bicolor schemes
Blue skinned Morgok’s Krushas with awesome offsetting beige by Shrimp_Warlock. The snow bases take it to the next level.
Super green Wurmspat by waterpaper – love the eyeball on Fecula’s shoulder icon
Excellent traditional scheme Rippa’s Snarlfangs by Karma_is_absent. Loving the speartip!
The minions for the Beastgrabbaz by Potamorphus which have some sickly looking sheen to their fungal elements and great color blending. Nice work!
Khagra’s Ravagers with some glowing weapon effects by eldollo143. Razek, as usual, is looking fly AF
Blood of the Bull in the OG Chorf colors by Stuart McQuarrie of Crown and Dagger MP
Sweet Sons of Velmorn in a dusty blue by Total-Calendar-422
Daggok Fink-Steala with Yellowish skin by Aggravating-Ad-1543 – great dappled look!
Two-tone Xepic from Starblood Stalkers by 20Kudasai
Muspelzharr color scheme (the black and yellow) Blood of the Bull by Syndicate_Reikon
Sons of Velmorn in a dirty cream color which really hits the undead vibes. Nice work from DetectiveMagicMan
Thorns of the Briar Queen with flames instead of ghostly tendrils by letchafic. Not the first we’ve seen this scheme and definitely won’t be the last. It’s so cool!
Battle-worn yet shiny Emberwatch by Additional-Bad-7829 – the capes are blended so well it’s hard to believe
Great color-coded weaponry on Ylthari’s Guardians by Lord_Furious
Remarkable Sepulchral Guard (and that’s saying something) by nizzel55. They claim to have taken three years and it absolutely paid off.
Rockin’ Zarbag’s Gitz in dusty white-gray robes with fantastic blending and transitions by Moos_Am_Sack
MISCELLANEOUS
Awesome custom modular 3D board by Pristine-Patient8605. Neat idea to magnetize so one board configuration can become many!
That’s a wrap! Tune in next month for December’s highlights, and don’t forget to Spend your Glory!
