Featured this month is the stunning ‘Moonwatch” by Amnoon with the kind of OSL I can only dream of. Reds and oranges from the torchlight and an otherwise entirely desaturated palette is just top tier stuff. Amazing!

PODCASTS

I’m very, VERY pleased to announce that Underworlds Underground is back. Thomas and I put out an incredibly brief review of our World Championships experience here, and then put up a 1 hour overview of the factions available to playing Khorne Warbands in Underworlds. It’s tailored to both existing Underworlds players who are looking to explore a new faction as well as non-Underworlds players who just happen to be Khorne Fans. Spread it around and see if we can’t get some more people into the game! We also covered the current meta and what we expect to see in an upcoming rules update following Thomas’ win at the Palm Springs Open.
Be on the lookout for more UWU episodes, as we have lots more planned and will be keeping the show on a much more regular schedule this year.
What the Hex has two episodes out this month: The first covers Phil and Davy’s experience with Hunting Grounds and how they’ve found use for it some distance after release. The second is a ‘Wheel of Warbands’ episode where they’re randomly assigned a warband and deck pairing, then have to face off against each other to see if they can make it work. Fun concept and great discussion following.

Wizz Game TV gives a French-Language overview of the ‘five best Warhammer games’, and Underworlds clocks in at Second Place! She states (based on youtube’s auto-translate anyway, I don’t speak French) “It’s really nice, it’s easy to get the hang of, and it’s fun to play… I like the format and there is tension from beginning to end. It’s perfect for players who like strategy and fast-paced gameplay. It’s definitely one of my favorite games to play several rounds in a row without ever getting bored”
Agents of Sigmar have a video out titled “What could make these Underworlds warbands better?” focusing on the warbands that struggle the most and some changes to their rules that might make them more competitive. They also have a battle report for Sons of Velmorn vs Exiled Dead
A brand new channel emerged this month: Dadhammer Underworlds. Here’s their first video, a Rivals battle report featuring Sons of Velmorn/Deadly Synergy and Ironsoul’s Condemnors/Blazing Assault, which is full of fun banter and cuss words between the two who obviously have been friends for a while. Looking forward to more!
Another new channel popped up! Here’s an Emberwatch overview by Misfit Guild, and they also have a brief look at Blood of the Bull
Cinderfall Gaming has a rivals battle video with Sons of Velmorn/Pillage and Plunder vs Starblood Stalkers/Emberstone Sentinels.
Critical Focus Channel has a video covering the lore from the Blazing Assault Rivals Deck
Tom Murrath gives a brief overview of the Shadeborn
Ojo de Cuervo has a Spanish language battle report featuring Sons of Velmorn and the Emberwatch

The Nemesis Stats Project has an update on the most recent data uploads, and Borni reached out to me to suggest that you all track your games to contribute to the effort if possible, as well as submit tournament data when you have it. Pass the word along! This one takes a lot of effort for him to maintain, and he needs our help as a community. Even chill games with your friends count, so help us gather data!
An old-timer’s favorite is back: Hexodus by Davy from What the Hex. He writes his experience with playing several games with the same warband, this time featuring Cyreni’s Razors. He’s running the project’s relaunch in tandem with Jake from Goonhammer, who also played Cyreni’s Razors in the same time interval and has his own writeup here. AWESOME to see this not only be revived, but be a group project. The more the merrier!
Starting Hex covers the importance of having access to heavy hitters in your warband over at Goonhammer – Jake runs down the list of fighters than can hit 3+ damage.
Michael of Staggerers explores the potency of being able to give move tokens to your opponents (preventing charge actions) and looks at the available tools to accomplish this. They also celebrated the site’s 3 year anniversary with a review of which warbands best utilize each Stagger card in game. Finally, they posted a Jaws of Itzl discussion by Quint who has developed strategy for playing Reckless Fury without attempting ‘aggro’ – a new way to look at the combo for sure.
R77 has moved to a new hosting site and penned his first blog post there – this one about how the game might become too boring if the core decks remain so strong and popular – I don’t necessarily agree but think it’s worth talking about. He provides some suggestions for subsequent Rivals deck releases and warband designs that might spice things up.

Clean Jaws of Itzl by Affectionate-Hat5175 – the pink scarring and the pink scale accents really pair well with Kro-Jax’s pale pattern, and it’s striking alongside the more traditional blue green of the rest of the band.
