Featured this month is a work that I’m floored by: this Borgit conversion by Nikolas Rubens Mortensen, fully reshaping him into an Old World Night Goblin inspired by art from legendary illustrator Adrian Smith. It earned him a commendation at Adepticon, which is absolutely deserved.
I also wanted to trumpet the return to the scene for Wunderworlds Club, my personal favorite deckbuilding website. Fully reinvented for second edition/Embergard, be sure to check it out. Thanks for bringing it back onto the menu for us players!

Events/Organized Play
The World Team Championships finished up this month, which was a 70-man event in Austria. Teams of 5 competed in a matchmaking system, and Team Italy came out on top! Having taken top at the World Championships or Warhammer and now the WTC, the Italians seem to be the team to beat this year. Spain’s “Los Cobras” and Poland’s Team Omega rounded out the podium. There’s content already published related to it:
- Staggerers covered Team Austria’s prep for WTC with loads of deckbuilding detail
- Staggerers reviewed Team Austria’s matches
- Ruben of the Netherlands wrote about their Emberstone/RR Emberwatch pairing for this page
July 20th saw the Sanctuary Clash in the Embergard, won by Dan Davies and Ylthari’s Guardians with Pillage and Wrack. A spooky pairing!

July 19-20 was the Tacoma Open, which was won by Andrew Mittelstaedt’s Mollog’s Mob with RF/RR. This being his second Grand Clash win of the year (after steamrolling through LVO) and his second Golden Ticket, I hereby pronounce he is officially a good player and doesn’t get to pretend he’s not better than me. I managed to bag second place at the same event – always a bridesmaid, never the bride.
