Featured this month is one of the very best Domitans I have ever seen alongside a crazy good Rising Petitioner in a bit of a storytelling diorama. Amazing work from Adán García Fernández of Hired Gun Studio. You can find his Instagram @liver.eating.johnson, and there you’ll see a ridiculous number of similarly good pieces. Peek at this magma-glow Sepulchral Guard work!

Oh, and ole Dom has magnetized spells in case he wants to switch them out, because why not make this even more impressive.

Misfit Guild has two videos for us this month: The first is a Battle Report featuring Ironsoul’s Condemnors vs Borgit’s Beastgrabbaz. They wanted to provide a terrifying Realmstone warning:

The second Misfit vid is an exploration of the Warscroll Skirmish rules from an old White Dwarf and how to use them to play quicker pickup games with less rules or cards-invested players.
BLOGS
Staggerers has a recap of the Austrian Teams’ WTC 2026 experiences if you’re interested in world-class competition battle reports and analysis. It’s good stuff
R77, the hero behind the Nemesis Stats Project, has turned his attention to rebalancing some of the more overpowered rivals decks. Here’s his take on a revised Blazing Assault, and here is the rework of Countdown to Cataclysm. If you want to take a crack at this yourself, you can check out this tutorial he made and when playing around you can utilize this template for your own reworked cards.
Ben Brown went to LVO this month and dropped this event report which is a hilarious read. Check it out and see how Gardeners are holding up competitively these days! He’s also continued his WHU 1.5 project and has another article considering combos of 2e warscrolls and 1e decks
SiBarge reached out to me to let me know he’s got a hobby blog and has Underworlds stuff in there, which is cool! Here’s his Drepur’s Wraithcreepers bit from recent days
Events/Organized Play
October 3-4 was the Las Vegas Open which saw good friend of the page Jesse Hardman come away with an undefeated (and I mean, not even any game losses) 6-0 (12-0) record to take the Golden Ticket. Ironsoul’s Condemnors BA/RS are coming for you, Barcelona! Cody’s Shadeborn took second, and Chad’s Hexbane came in third.

October 10th held Nordics in Stockholm, and Daniele Margarone of Team Sollentuna came away in first place after a 6-1 finish with Thorns of the Briar Queen. Mollog’s Mob and Ylthari’s Guardians (!!!) rounded out the podium.

October 23rd we were treated to another Warhammer World Clash, this time with the overall winner being Rowan Mcghee using Ironsoul’s with Raging Slayers and Reckless Fury
October 25th was I UNDERHUERTA, a Spanish event with 32 contestants which is pretty cool. Miguel Segura of Malaka Team took the trophy using Skittershank’s Clawpack, Fran Torres of Fiereza irresisible was second with Elathain, and PincelFalso 123 of Los Cobras (who also happens to be a world-class painter) was third with Mollog’s Mob.
UPCOMING
November 7th is hosting “Danger World” – a large teams event in Spain that already has eight 3-man teams registered, and I’m excited to see some of the big names there duke it out.
November 14th, Crypts of Halle VI will be held in Belgium as a 5 Rounds best-of-one nemesis event. A few more famous community names will be there as well!
November 15th, Trollune Underworlds – Tournoi d’Automne is going down in Lyon, France as a 5 round best of 1 one-dayer.
Sometime in November, date to be announced, is another Warhammer World Clash, so keep your eyes and ears open for more info from Philip Lancashire and the WHW crew!

THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS OF WARHAMMER are going down in Spain this year, where people from around the world will gather in Barcelona on a Golden-Ticket invitation-only basis. The event should begin December 3rd and will hopefully have live streaming matches on Youtube – more info to come!
December 20th, the first ever Underworlds 1.5th edition event is slated to be held in Chicago. Here, you’ll use second edition warscrolls and fighter cards, but first edition decks which allow for some crazy stuff. I believe you’ll get some random booster packs and have to #DoItLive. Ben’s pitch is “Want to play some Underworlds, but not sure where your cards are, or whether your deck is legal and/or good? Do you appreciate 2nd edition’s streamlined rules, but deep down you pine for the cool old card designs of 1st edition? Then why not try the Newest Underworlds Content that is, technically, sweeping the nation!”
Painting/Hobby

The Golden Daemon competition at Spiel wrapped up, and this Kro-Jax the Aegis done by Valentin Colomb grabbed Bronze in the single miniature category. JAH DAMN that’s a good looking dinosaur. Love the basing slime and the light jade especially!

Alexandre Gille painted up these phenomenal Khagra’s Ravagers, and the subtle use of light really sets off the color contrasts and shading

Hector Olivar presents Zarbag in a picture frame in what’s a super creative and new way of presenting the model, or really any model.

Wojtek Minis presented this Headkrakka’s Madmob for Golden Daemon, and it’s a classic immediately

ApeBoy has painted what might be one of the best Brydget models I have ever seen from Hexbane’s Hunters – the conversion on he hair adds so, so much and the skin is great

The Blood of the Bull have Deamonforge weapons, or so they tell me. La Guarida El Lictor made me believe it.

TyWarPainting has completed this mini diorama of three Khorne Warriors, but if you look closely they’re all converted members of Khagra’s Ravagers. Such a strong model kit to start from, and they did some really cool stuff with it to make this piece which won a gold level commendation in the standard category at SMC

I_Am_Not_Alpharius is always a treat, and this time they have these Morgok’s Krushas in what honestly reminds me of old school Ninja Turtles colors

Stunners all, these Crimson Court by Intelligent-Royal832 have NMM white-metal armor that is so, so clean
Marco Pescini won the Gold Prize at Spiels’ Golden Daemon in the AoS unit category with these Eshin Skaven, and I wanted to share because he used a cute little converted Tik-Tik, who has closeups you can view here. Obviously the painting is superb, but we all know the inclusion of the game’s best lil’ bomb rat was what sealed the win for him.
JML Miniatures made some very spooky Sons of Velmorn in red and dark NMM – the fall folioage on the basing really ties it together and offsets the rest
Barael’sBrush won the Cristchurch open and will be headed to Worlds, and graced us with not only the cool trophy but also the super well-painted Elathain’s Soulraid that won it
SteamPaints studio had quite the haul at Golden Daemon, including this Notable-awarded Wurmspat
61 Painting comes through in the clutch once again – check out these Crimson Court as well as their tropical Ephilim’s Pandaemonium
RadonSkadat has a gorgeous Imnidrin from Blood of the Bull for us, with glowing eyes that draw your attention

Mauron Warpainter gives us a nightmare Spiteshroom in black for Halloween
JTV has some light-colored armor on the Wurmspat that’s a unique take
ManufacturerLive9657 has Thricefold Discord for us, and I’m starting to really dig their smooth blending style. If you want more (I do!) here’s Grinkrak’s Looncourt
DaxMein has the Nightvault Box done up from years ago, which has your classic spooky green Throns of the Briar Queen but also some really start NMM gold on the Cursebreakers which I haven’t seen in a hot minute
5 hour speedpaint job on the Wurmspat by Xamptis, and I wouldn’t know unless they told us. The bicolor helmets are crazy cool
Tooupi has painted blue and purple Winter Skinnerkin (winterkin?) and I am in love with The Carnskyr’s wings
Sufficient-Engine829 is fast becoming a reddit name I want to see, and these Storm of Celestus in absolutely regal purple and dark copper are a sight to behold
adjb560 has some near-bioluminescent Elathain’s Soulraid for us to gawk at
tainfulceeots2 has the classic red Crimson Court nobody can get enough of
Used-Meaning7062 has Sepulchral Guard completed this month, and the teal cloth is so nice against the grimy white of the bone. Oil paints, rust effects, and more. What a killer color theory application
ThramusArt has completed some Sorcerer’s Apprentice coded Ephilim’s Pandaemonium, and those flames be POPPIN’
Melodic-Board8160 comes through for us with Skabbik’s Plaguepack, who are a set of models just too dang good to leave in first edition all by their lonesome. Curling yellow smoke? Yuck, but also yes please.
MISCELLANEOUS

My buddy Ethan says he’s “finally got around to updating my token/dice boxes into a shareable state”. Here’s the STLs if anyone is interested!
